Research of Numerical Simulation of Biomechanics on In-stent-restenosis

چکیده
Stenting intervention is emerging as an alternative for treating the stenosis of cardiac and cerebral arteries. However, postoperative In-Stent-Restenosis (ISR) remains a challenge for medical sciences and biomechanical engineering. ISR is related not only to the stress induced by the mechanical support of stent struts on arterial wall, but also to the intimal hyperplasia induced by the hemodynamic changes. The recent research on biomechanics of stented artery was reviewed in this paper. In particular, from the perspectives of solid mechanics and hemodynamics, the research progress of stented artery using biomechanical simulation was discussed. The biomechanical factors associated with ISR were analyzed and summarized. Numerical simulation is a powerful approach for the investigation of the relationship between stenting intervention and ISR, and can provide scientific guidelines for the design of stent structure and clinical procedure of stenting intervention.

Overview of Intracoronary Brachytherapy for in-Stent Restenosis of a Drug-Eluting Stent
Percutaneous coronary intervention with stenting is considered recently as the most common procedure for the treatment of symptomatic coronary. The article reviewed 41 studies published during 1997-2019 on intracoronary brachytherapy for in-stent restenosis of a drug-eluting stent. Intracoronary radiation therapy was finally confirmed in the setting of in-stent restenosis using as adjunctive th...
متن کاملAssociation of G22A variant of Adenosine Deaminase gene with coronary in-stent restenosis in coronary artery patients receiving drug-eluting stent
In-stent restenosis (ISR) is regarded as the main problem in the utilization of stents in the treatment of coronary artery atherosclerotic stenosis in percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). This study investigated the possible role of the G22A variant of the Adenosine Deaminase gene (ADA) in the development of ISR. In this study, 91 patients who underwent PCI were divided into two groups of ...

Background: Cardiovascular diseases alone have become the leading cause of death worldwide. One of the treatment methods cardiovascular disease is angioplasty. This study aimed to investigate the clinical results after coronary artery angioplasty, based on the incidence of major cardiovascular events with emphasis on stent types. Methods: In this retrospective cross-sectional study, the preval...
متن کاملThe need for stent-lesion matching to optimize outcomes of intracoronary stent implantation.
Intracoronary stents have markedly improved the outcomes of catheter-based coronary interventions. Intracoronary stent implantation rates of over 90% during coronary angioplasty are common. Stent implantations are associated with a small but statistically significant number of adverse outcomes including restenosis, thrombosis, strut malapposition, incomplete strut endothelialization, and variou...

Introduction Biodegradable stents have the potential to avoid long-term complications of conventional stents such as in-stent restenosis and late stent thrombosis, and could allow for a restoration of vasomotion and vessel growth which makes them suitable for e.g. paediatric applications [1]. To investigate the mechanics of this new type of stent via finite element simulations, we developed a n...
